The agreement stipulates that IGS will open a new restaurant in the departure area of the terminal building this spring. Furthermore, it will open a new bar with views across the airport runway. IGS will furthermore, continue catering for passengers on the first and second floor of the south terminal building. Combined IGS will run catering services that cover 990 square meters area in the terminal.
In the new contract IGS makes a commitment towards increased product range, with an emphasis on selling products from well known international restaurant chains.
The agreement is part of the increased services offered to customers. Furthermore, its also in line with the policy of increasing the role of private firms in the air terminal operations. A policy which was set forth in the latest round of renewals for sales and services licenses at the airport. Gunnar Olsen Managing Director IGS signed the agreement on behalf of IGS and Höskuldur Ásgeirsson CEO LFT on behalf of LFT.
